"William "Bill" Woodrow Jones, Jr. entered his Home in Glory on Tuesday morning, April 14th, surrounded by loved ones.

Bill was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, on February 23, 1944, to parents William Woodrow Jones, Sr and Ruby Faye Alford Jones.

Bill's family moved to Texarkana when he was a boy. He attended Texas High and was a graduate of the Class of 1962.

Through the years, Bill was a pipe fitter by trade, retiring from Day and Zimmerman, and he was no stranger to hard work in the fields, on the farm, in the garden, building barns, mending fences, and locking all the gates by sundown. Bill loved all things western and cowboy. He lived for trail rides, covered-wagon travel, saddling horses, braying with the donkeys, and sharing his trademark horseshoe doorstops and hangers. Daily projects on the tractor and picking up sticks and limbs were never stepped over. Bill loved all the animals and treated them well.

Through the years, Bill and Patty created a field of faith and a home of happiness and planned for and welcomed all family and friends to all the holidays for fellowship, food, and laughter. There was always plenty of bounty and hugs to go around. Bill and Patty's home was a warm welcome. Bill always said the blessing before the meals. He always thanked the Good Lord for those gathered and His Blessings, and "if there is one here today that is not saved, let today be the day of their salvation and knowing you, Lord."

In retirement years, Bill looked forward to meeting with his posse at Johnny B's, or Old Tyme Burger Shoppe, or The Egg House, to shoot the stuff or weave one of his campfire tales that would brighten the sky with laughter. Bill's best memories were two-stepping and waltzing on sawdust floors with his Cowboy's Sweetheart, Patty. They could, and would, dance together until the cows came home.

Preceded in Bill's Homegoing were his parents, infant siblings Judith Karen Jones and Joan Jones, brother-in-law Porter McAfee, and niece, Terrie Lynn.

Bill is leaving a host of family and friends to cherish his legacy of Faith, Family, and Hard Work. His Forever Dancing Partner and favorite girl, his wife of 34 years, Patricia (Patty) Mae Carter Jones. Bill's two sons are Todd and Melanie Jones, and Tony Jones. His and Patty's siblings, Sue McAfee, Dottie and Paul Roberts, Terry and Sherry Jones, Ann Woisard, David and Donna Jo Carter, John and Julie Carter. His grands and greats, Alexander Jones and Savanna Lewis, Jeffery and Lauren Fletcher, Jessica Fletcher, Joshuah Fletcher, Ashley and Cason Sims, Lara and Andy Vance, Lilian Nielsen, Willow King, Gracelyn Sims, Cadon Sims, Katie Fletcher, Caroline Fletcher, and Ivy Jones.

Bill would be pleased if you sat in your rocker and watched the Cowboy or GRIT channel and enjoyed all the gunpowder. Buy lunch for a friend that may need a smile. Remember the widows and orphans. Share your bounty. Pray with those that are ill or broken. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

The family will receive friends at the Hickory Street Baptist Church on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 A. M.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Friday, April 17, 2026, at Hickory Street Baptist Church, 2923 Hickory Street, Texarkana, Arkansas 71854, with Rev. Tim Strebeck officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.
