Robert Stanley Roberson "Stan," age 70, went home to be with Jesus on May 13, 2026.
Born on November 14, 1955, in Cartersville, Georgia, in Bartow County, Stan moved with his family to Texarkana, Arkansas, at the age of six, the place he would proudly call home for the rest of his life.

Stan retired from International Paper in 2018 after 37 years of dedicated service as a Master Electrician, Instrument Technician, and trainer for the IP Mill. He was deeply committed to his trade, a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and was known for his unmatched work ethic - never taking a day off.

He proudly served on the Board of Directors for Domino Federal Credit Union for 29 years, including time as both President and Secretary. He also served as President of the EMBA (Employees Members Benefit Association) at the IP Sports Complex, Texarkana Mill.

Stan graduated from Arkansas High School in 1974 and remained an avid Razorback fan throughout his life. He had that same passion for Trump and said many times, "that man knows what he's doing".  A lifelong member of the Republican Party, Stan was a true American patriot. He attended the Republican National Convention and made several trips to Washington, D.C. on behalf of Domino Federal Credit Union.

Stan grew up attending Immanuel Baptist Church in Texarkana, Arkansas, and later became a member of First Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas. His faith was steadfast and unwavering. Up until the very end, if someone asked him who is no longer in that empty tomb, Stan would light up and excitedly answer, "Jesus!" His love for the Lord never faded, and his family rejoices in knowing exactly where Stan will be waiting on the rest of us.

Stan had a quick wit and was a lifelong jokester who loved to tease and pick at people any chance he got. If you ever made the mistake of mentioning you had a headache around him, he was quick to grin and say, "A head like that's supposed to ache." His humor and playful spirit brought laughter to so many but the thing we will miss the most is his tender heart that shined so brightly the last few years of his life.  He found joy in the simpler things – he loved feeding his birds and garage selling with Debbie.

Stan was reunited in Heaven with his mother, Verniece Welch Roberson; his father, James Clyde Roberson; his sister, Pam Roberson Sloat; and his beloved dog, Matsu, his loyal companion who delivered his newspaper every morning.

He is survived by his children, Sherena Snyder and husband Terry Snyder, and Jason Ethridge; his lifelong friend, former spouse, companion, and caregiver Debbie Neely; seven grandchildren – Dylan Barrett (Brooke), Carley Bearden (Austin), Kaitlyn Ethridge, Victoria Ethridge, Madison Ethridge, Lexi Snyder, and Joseph Ethridge; and three great-grandchildren, Parker, Weston & Nathan.

He is also survived by his brothers, Jim Roberson (wife Paula) of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Greg Roberson of Texarkana, Arkansas; and his sisters, Cindy Raschke (husband Scott)of Victoria, Texas, and Lorri Lucas of Greenwood, Arkansas, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and treasured friends.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Steve Neely, who cared for Stan with dignity, compassion, and friendship.  Stan enjoyed every meal prepared, time spent at fish camp and shopping in your tools for zip ties, gloves and tape measures.

Special recognition is also given to the two outstanding sitters who shared the final two weeks of Stan's life. Thank you to Yasmine Easter and Kalaan Curley for your dedication, kindness, and loving care.

The family would also like to thank Alzheimer's Alliance Tri-State Area for the friendship, joy, and memories they brought into Stan's life. He especially enjoyed his visits and time spent with Jane Portis, Terri Daniels, and Doug and Sondra Watts.

Stan's physical body will be laid to rest in the Bell Tower Mausoleum at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens in Texarkana.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 20th from 6-8pm and funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Chapelwood Funeral Home, 1015 N. Kings Hwy, Nash, Texas 75569.

A special tribute honoring Stan will be held at the graveside pavilion featuring some of his favorite songs and, fittingly, a final Calling of the Hogs.
