Sina Faye Wheat, age 79 of Sugarcreek Township, Ohio formerly of Maud, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, June 8, 2026, at her home surrounded by loved ones.

She was born on May 12, 1947, in Bradley, Arkansas to Colston and Cora Copeland. She was a beloved wife, mom, Nanny, Aunt Faye, sister and dear friend to many.

Over the years, she helped take care of nieces, nephews, her parents and anyone in need. She held many jobs in her life including working in a nursing home but lastly cooking in the restaurant with her son Mark and his wife Cindy.

She found her greatest joy spending time with family and friends. She loved to cook, especially with the grandkids, watch westerns and listen to her Gospel music. She loved God's creations, especially anything with butterflies. She was very kind and gentle-hearted to everyone she met. She made everyone feel loved, special and always welcomed you with hugs.

She was preceded in death by her son James Graham, her father Colston Copeland, mother Cora Copeland, brother Colston Copeland, brother James Copeland, twin sister Ina Taylor, sister Ada Gentry, sister Sherry Clayton, brother Ezra Copeland, and her beloved husband of 48 years Guy Ray Wheat Sr.

Left to cherish her memory are her three sisters, Mary Coats of San Leon, Texas, Joyce Ballew of Sherman, Texas and Viver Lane of Ennis, Texas; four children, Mark and Cindy Wheat of Frankston, Texas, Mona McGray of San Leon, Texas, Julie and Greg Caudle of Sugarcreek Township, Ohio, Guy Ray Wheat Jr. and Cari Merritt of Redwater, Texas; Twelve grandkids; and great grandkids, a number of relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Faith Community Baptist Church, Maud, Texas with Bro. Augustine Alaniz officiating.

Interment will be in Rock Hill Cemetery, Maud, Texas under the direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service on Monday.
