Norma L. McKelvey

Norma L. McKelvey, age 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at her residence.

She was born on June 15, 1937, to Thomas and Lillian Tackette. Norma devoted much of her life to caring for her home and family as a homemaker. She also had a servant’s heart and found joy in giving back to her community, volunteering as a Pink Lady at Wadley Hospital.

Norma enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially camping and spending time with the people she loved. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. But above all else, Norma’s faith was the foundation of her life. Her love for the Lord guided her. She was a member of Faith Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. ‘Jim’ McKelvey; her parents, Thomas and Lillian Tackette; brother, Terrell Tackette; sister, Muriel Dean Tackette.

She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Keith and Darla McKelvey of New Lebanon, Ohio; Kurt McKelvey of Texarkana, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law; Connie and Steve Coker of Fouke, Arkansas; one sister, Evelyn Murrah; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of friends and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 9, 2026 in the chapel of Texarkana Funeral Home - Arkansas with Rev. Matthew Kelly officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to service time. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens.
