Newton "Newt" Arnold passed away peacefully from this life on Monday, December 16, 2024, at his residence surrounded by family.

He was born on November 10, 1934, to T.C. and Doris Arnold in the small community of Rondo in Texarkana, AR.

After graduating from Arkansas High School, Newt attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville graduating with a Business degree in 1962.

He began his career with International Harvester and held several positions throughout his lengthy career, starting out establishing dealerships to Territory Manager. He finished his career with Komatsu selling heavy construction equipment throughout Arkansas. His career took him from Texas, New Mexico, Japan, and back to Arkansas.

In his younger years, Newt enjoyed hunting, fishing, and deer camp was an annual event which he enjoyed immensely. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his special brother-in-law, Jack Aaron, and many special friends.

Newt was a faithful member and Elder of First Lutheran Church in Texarkana, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles Arnold and Kenneth Arnold; two sisters, Nancy Banks and Judy Kennedy; two brothers-in-law, Jack Aaron and James Rayburn; his father-in-law, J.P. Aaron; and his mother-in-law, Katherine Aaron.

The holidays were the highlight of his year. He enjoyed getting together with family and telling the same stories over and over and laughing as if it was the first time ever to hear them. Newt loved to cut up with the children in the family. After retirement, he spent his time keeping his yard and home immaculate. His family nicknamed him Mr. Clean.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Lydia (Aaron) Arnold; one son, Dale (Melissa) Arnold of Van Alstyne, TX; one daughter, Kathy (Glenn) Stivers of Leary, TX; one very special grandson, Darin Arnold, who took care of his Papaw until the end, the family could not have made it the last few years without him. Newt is also survived by eleven other grandchildren: Grace Circello, Faith Arnold, Micah Arnold, Hope Arnold, Aaron Arnold, Charity Morgan, Noah Vucci, Alexander Vucci,  Zachary Vucci, Christian Vucci, and Braven Vucci. He was also a great-grandfather to Cora, Ollie, Parker, Cricket, Rip, Raiden, Isaiah, Monroe, and Xavier.

He is survived by two sisters, Margarette (Tommy) Smith and Carolyn Carter; sister-in-law, Linda Rayburn; nephews, Jim Rayburn, Joe (Shawn) Rayburn, and six great nieces and nephews, Preston, Parker, Linda, Andrea, Daniel, and David.

A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Pastor Scott Sunby officiating.
