Obituary

Mary Ann Daniels, age 90, of Texarkana, Texas passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026. She was born in Foreman, Arkansas on April 2, 1936, to Hazel and Raymond Hudgeons.

She spent 40 plus years as a bookkeeper, working for Gibson Discount Stores, which later became known as Howard’s and Ar-Tex gas company, she later retired in Paris, Texas.

In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren and great-grands. She loved to be outside in her garden. She enjoyed sewing as well and was good at it. She was a member at Oaklawn Baptist church and loved her church family dearly.

Her family would describe her as caring, hardworking and very independent. To some she’s know as a DIY’er and they know that a cardboard box will be safe, but really it won’t.

Those preceded in death before her include both of her parents; two babies David and Joyce Daniels; two brothers, Edward Hudgeons and RH “Buddy” Hudgeons; and one sister Louise Longfellow.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons; James and his wife Nancy Daniels and Danny Daniels; three grandchildren, Aimee and her husband Michael Gilliland, Eric and his wife Kate, and Andrew Daniels, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; along with a host of other family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Alliance.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at Texarkana Funeral Home – Texas from 1:00- 2:00 P.M.
