Mary Jane Autrey, 99, passed away peacefully at her residence in Texarkana, Texas on Sunday, January 26, 2025. Mary Jane was born to Ernest Lee and Mary Roena Kelley on August 28, 1925, in Texarkana, Texas.

Mary Jane attended and graduated from Texas High School in 1942. She met her husband Oliver on a blind date, and they married on February 13, 1953. They made their home in Wake Village, Texas, and attended Rosehill Church of Christ in the early 1950s. They started attending Walnut (Street) Church of Christ in 1968, which has been their church home since. Mary Jane and Oliver were married for 69 years when she lost the love of her life in 2022. Oliver was 100 years of age at his passing.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Leta Mae Maxey, and Odistene Jones, her brothers William Collin Kelley, and Ernest Lee Kelley, Jr., brothers-in-law Vermon Maxey and Walter Jones, sisters-in-law Margaret Kelley and Evelyn Kelley, and her nephews Elwin Maxey, and Kelley Jones, and her step-granddaughter Jessica Coxsey.

She is survived by her sons Tony (Debbie) Autrey of Texarkana, Texas, and Gary Lee Autrey (Karen Rene') of Roswell, Georgia, also three granddaughters Ashley (Scott) Ellis of Houston, Texas, Megan Autrey of Dallas, Texas, and Elizabeth Autrey of Roswell, Georgia, and grandson Kyle Autrey of Texarkana, Texas. In addition to her immediate family, Mary Jane is also survived by great-grandchildren Autrey and Collin Ellis, Joe Coxsey, and Ford Autrey. She was eagerly awaiting the arrival of another great-grandson from the Ellis family. Also she is survived by three nieces Chris (John) Ward, Mary (Paul) Joiner, Pam (Bill) Goff, and niece-in-law Meleah Jones. Three nephews Mike (Vicki) Kelley, Pat (Linda) Kelley, and Jim (Patty) Kelley.

Mary Jane loved the outdoors and enjoyed the 20+ years she and her husband spent camping around the country in their trailer. Aside from being a homemaker, she was a Cub Scout Den Mother and taught Sunday School for many years at Rosehill Church of Christ. She also worked for and retired from General Telephone after several years. Spending time with her family (especially her grandchildren) was the joy of her life, but most important to her was her church and her love for the Lord. Overall, Mary Jane's life was a beautiful testament to her love, faith, and unwavering resilience.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 11:00 am in the chapel at Texarkana Funeral Home 3515 Texas Boulevard with Patrick Cannon officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until service time.
