Obituary

Mr. Brian was born on February 23,1934 in Texarkana, Texas to mother Eva Rathburn Brian and father Leo Brian, and passed away on October 4, 2026.

He is survived by brother Ronnie Davis and wife Debbie, sister-in-law Rose Davis, sister-in-law Laura Davis; son-in-law Marty Flowers, son Mark Brian and wife Beth, granddaughter Judith Mangrum and husband Joel; granddaughter Sarah Brian Munoz; grandson Matthew Brian; five nieces and two nephews; and six great-grandchildren.

Preceding Leo in death are his wife Susan Cigainero Brian, daughter Karen Edwards Flowers, mother Eva Lorene Davis, stepfather Archie Connie Davis, brothers Joel Charles Davis and Archie Craig Davis; sister Barbara Davis, sister-in-law Diane Davis; sister-in-law Kathy Womack; brother-in-law Lawrence Grant; son-in-law James A. Edwards, niece Melissa Grant; his father Leo Brian and infant brother Charles Clifton Brian.

Raised in the Pleasant Hill community, he lived with his grandparents on Camp Preston Hunt during WW2, later worked at a department store, automobile dealership, guided duck hunters and trapped fur bearers. Graduating from Arkansas High in 1952, where he had played baseball he enlisted in the Navy as a Seabee. Returning to Texarkana in 1954, he married Susan Cigainero and worked for AT&T Long Lines thirty-four years, retiring in 1991 at Longview. Dad was active in Scouts as an adult leader, supported the Girl Scout work of his daughter and wife, and led the family in outdoor activities. Returning to Texarkana in 1998, they kept busy on their tree farm and in their church.

Services on Saturday, October 17 at 11 AM, officiated by Pastor Kristin Rice in the sanctuary of Northwood Presbyterian, will precede a brief graveside ceremony in the adjacent cemetery, followed by visitation and food in the fellowship hall of the church.
