Larry Baker, age 79, of Hooks, Texas passed away Thursday August 21, 2025, at home.

He was born July 28, 1946, in Texarkana, Arkansas to George W. Baker and Bessie Baker.

Larry was preceded in death by both his parents, brothers Leon Baker, Cleo Baker, Joe Baker, Bob Baker, sisters Jenave Baker, Imogene Barron, Evelyne Hurst and Nona Richardson, and special friend Jim McHeffey.

He is survived by his sister Laura Mitchell and brother-in-law Jerrell Mitchell, sisters-in-law Norma Baker, and Leah Baker.
He graduated from Hayworth High School, Hayworth, Okla and received his Bachelor of Science in Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University at Durant, Okla.

He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Larry retired from DRMO/Red River Army Depot, Texarkana, Texas.

He was a caring individual, always willing to help others.

A grave side service will be held at the Tom Cemetery, Tom, Oklahoma with the Rev. Mike
Morgan officiating on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
