"Kita" Moore

Laquita Van "Kita" Moore, age 67, of Ashdown, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, April 26, 2026. She was born on September 1, 1958, to Dova McKnight Pritchett and Ardell Pritchett.

She grew up in Texarkana, attending school there and graduating from Fouke High School. In junior high, Kita was a captain of the pep squad for College Hill Junior High Shoats.

Kita will be remembered as a loving homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family and friends. She enjoyed researching her family's genealogical history, playing the piano, and always made time to check on others. Her warm spirit and radiant laugh could light up any room. Music played a big part in her life, as well as singing and writing songs.

She was a devoted member of New Hope Church, where she faithfully served as the church pianist. She loved the Lord with all her heart. She will be remembered as having a servant's heart. One of her favorite Bible verses can be found in John 14: 2-3 (NIV):" In my Father's house are many mansions: If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dova Pritchett and Ardell Pritchett; brother, Albert Dewayne Pritchett, and brother-in-law, Gary Smith; and her nephew, Gary Smith, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Riley Moore and wife Bonnie of El Dorado, Arkansas; her daughter, Ashley McMurry of Ashdown, Arkansas; her brother, Larry Pritchett and wife Diane of Texarkana, Arkansas; and her sisters, Tienna Yates and husband Jack of Murfreesboro, Arkansas, and Debby Smith of Texarkana, Texas.

She is also survived by her five cherished grandchildren: Whittney McGowan and husband Dylan, Jackson McMurry, Michael Moore, Mason Moore, and Max Moore; and one precious great-grandchild, Adaline McGowan; beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Texarkana Funeral Home (Arkansas) on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 12:00 PM in the chapel. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
