Kenneth Gray, age 86, of Hooks, Texas, passed away on July 21, 2025.

He was born on November 20, 1938, in Westover, Texas to Ara New and James Doyle Gray.

Mr. Gray graduated from North Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts.

He spent his working days as an Industrial Engineer at Day and Zimmerman for 39 years. In his free time, he enjoyed building things, woodworking, browsing flea markets, and repurposing ordinary items into works of art. He loved to tinker. He also loved jazz and Big Band music.

He was also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

His family described him as an easy going, loving creature, and he could fix anything.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Glenda Gray, his parents, his son-in-law Terry Rose, his brothers Jerry Gray and Glen "Okie" Gray, his sister Gwen Browning, his sister-in-law Peggy Gray and his nephew Rodney Browning

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Kelly Rose and his sons, Doug Gray and Casey Gray, all of Hooks, TX.; one grandson, Dillon Gray of Laporte, TX.; sister-in-law, Sue Gray of Wake Village, TX.; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. at Chapelwood Funeral Home- Nash, TX.

Burial will follow at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 6:00- 8:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to be made to Habitat for Humanity of Texarkana or Texarkana Animal League.
