Kenneth Thomas Gardner, 74, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31, 2025. Born on March 9, 1950, in Grayling, Michigan, Kenneth was the beloved son of Thomas and Eleanor Gardner. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, he honorably served aboard the USS Robert H. McCard (DD-822).

For 40 years, Kenneth dedicated himself to his work as a truck driver, navigating the open roads with diligence and pride. Beyond his career, he found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Whether cheering them on at softball games, taking them to the fair, or watching movies together, he cherished every moment. He also enjoyed returning to his home state of Michigan for vacations, reconnecting with his roots.

Kenneth was known for his generous heart and unwavering willingness to help anyone in need. His sense of humor was larger than life, and his laughter was contagious. He had a way of bringing joy to those around him with his good-natured teasing and playful spirit.

A devoted member of First Lutheran Church of Texarkana, Texas, Kenneth's faith was central to his life. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and a friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Eleanor Gardner; and his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Gardner.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Debra Gardner; son, Shawn Gardner (Carrie) of Genoa, Arkansas; daughter, Randie Hudecz (Adam) of Alma, Michigan; 10 grandchildren, Matthew, Thomas, and Josh Gardner of Genoa, Arkansas, Lane and Laura Ermann of Avery, Texas, Kayla Ermann of Foreman, Arkansas, Isaiah, Sophia, Kiptym, Pippa Hudecz of Alma, Michigan; 2 great-grandchildren, Logan and Copper Ermann, of Avery, Texas; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 1:00 PM at First Lutheran Church of Texarkana, Texas, officiated by Pastor Scott Sundbye.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.
