Karen West, age 59, passed on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in Texarkana, Texas.

Karen was born in Hope, Arkansas, on April 10, 1967, to William and Martha McCorkle and lived most of her life in Texarkana, Arkansas.

Karen was employed by Genoa Central School District and worked as a Medicaid liaison for the school to provide therapies for students. Karen was truly adored by her family for her natural ability to be a leader and stood beside her husband and children at every step they took in life. Karen's natural ability to lead was marked by her fiery spirit that gave her passion for her family, her education, and her career.

Karen was the rock for her family, whom they considered a genuine saint, and her husband, Ray, considered her an angel on earth. Ray and Karen shared more than 41 years together that began in high school. Karen was devoted to her family relentlessly, making sure her children and those around were kept close, well-loved, and taken care of.

Karen was incredibly dependable on those she cared for and would go to no end to support them in every way they needed.

Karen West is preceded in death by her father, William McCorkle, and brother Terry McCorkle.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother Martha McCorkle, her husband Ray West, her brother Charles McCorkle (Stephanie McCorkle) and living sister-in law- Lynn McCorkle, her sons Cody West (Lacy Graham), Cutter West (Faith Graves), her grandchildren Nolan West, James Davison, Sawyer Davison, and extended family friends Jerry and Meshelle Anderson, Benjamin Bell, Cody Lewis, and Austin Clayton.

Her passions included service, care, and compassion, not only to her loved ones, but to anybody that needed it. Her love, strength, and kindness will live on in all of the hearts and souls that she touched forever.

Memorial service will be held at a later date.
