Joyce Ann Blalock, age 82, of Texarkana, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her home on April 23, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

Joyce was born on August 20, 1943, to her parents, Dorris and Dorothy House. She dedicated her life to caring for others as a home health nurse, a role she embraced with compassion and devotion.

In her quieter moments, Joyce found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved sitting on her porch, waving to neighbors and passersby, sharing her warmth with everyone she met. She enjoyed teaching piano lessons, working in her yard, and tending to her beloved flower garden. Joyce also had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, especially fishing and spending time in nature.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Blalock; her son, Donald Curtis James;  two brothers, Junior House and Arthur House; and sister-in-law, Karen House.

She is survived by her children, Timothy Martin James and Patty Ann James; grandchildren, Andrew Avance, Aaron Avance, Greg James, Timothy Blake James, Tanna Anderson, Shane McClure, Christian James, Cheyenne James; great grandchildren, Andrew Swint, Catie Avance, Dalyton Avance, Azalea Avance, Addilyn Anderson, Braxton James, Richard Perez Jr., Paytan James; brother, Cecil House and wife Ferdia Jane; sister-in-law, Ada Jane House; daughter-in-law, Amanda James; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, April 27, 2026, in the chapel of Texarkana Funeral Home – Arkansas.

A funeral service for Joyce will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, in the chapel of Texarkana Funeral Home – Arkansas with Robby Watson and Tandy Hanson officiating.
