Joe David Osborne, Jr. age 70, of Texarkana, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 22, 2026, in a local hospice facility surrounded by his family.

David was born on November 27, 1955, in Beaumont, Texas, and lived in Texarkana most of his life. He was a retired teacher with the Liberty Eylau Independent School District where he taught at the School of Success.  David had a special gift for reaching teenagers whom others believed were untouchable. He saw potential where others saw obstacles. David had a remarkable way of encouraging those around him to believe in themselves. He faithfully served as a minister at Harmony Grove for more than thirty years, dedicating his life to his faith. Throughout his lifetime, David was known by many names, some affectionately called him "Super Dave" a reflection of his larger-than life personality and joy he brought to others. Yet of all the names he carried through life, he treasured most was "DADDY" "Husband", PAPAW" and "BIG BROTHER".

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Texarkana, and was a Sunday School Teacher. David also proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served with honor during the Vietnam War.   He was preceded in death by one daughter, April LeAnn Osborne his parents, Joe David Osborne, Sr. and Juanita Osborne, his brother, James Osborne and one sister, Shirley Hall.

He is survived by his wife, of forty-six years, Vivian Osborne of Texarkana, Texas; two daughters and one son-in-law, Audrey and Paul Peters of Longview, Texas; Amanda Osborne of Texarkana, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Chelsey Osborne of Texarkana, Arkansas; one sister and brother-in-law,, Peggy and Jim Owenby of Texarkana, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Hailey Osborne, Kyleigh Osborne and Bo Osborne and a host of friends and other relatives.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday 29, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.

A Celebration of David's Life will be at 3:00 P.M.  on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas with Dr. David Holder officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Lamartine Cemetery in Waldo, Arkansas.
