Joan Krug Peterson

On May 24, Joan Peterson went home to the Lord, having completed her life at the age of 96. Born April 16, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of a police chief and is survived by one of her three siblings, Nancy Broquet. She married Ralph Peterson June 16, 1950. Their seventy one year marriage lasted until his death in 2021.

Joan is survived by her two children, Eric Peterson of Pensacola, Florida and Christine Quinn of Texarkana. She has three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Joan was an accomplished watercolor artist, with membership in the Tennessee and Georgia state watercolor societies and numerous regional showings. She and Ralph were also enthusiastic bridge players, and competed in duplicate bridge for master points for a number of years. They raced sailboats on Mobile Bay in their retirement.

Services will be held at the memory garden in Bayview, Michigan where her husband is buried and the couple had a summer cottage for many years.
