James Powell Moore passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in Texarkana, Texas. He was born on September 21, 1967, and lived in the Texarkana area for most of his life.

Mr. Moore attended St. James Day School, Arkansas High School, and Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. He had many special interests and enjoyed music, periodically playing with local bands in Texarkana. He loved being on the water, learning to water ski at an early age, and sailing with his parents in St. Martin to various islands in the Caribbean Sea.

He worked at Spirit Lake Farms with his father and helped operate a crawfish business with his wife, Amy, in Lewisville, Arkansas. His greatest joy of all was spending time with family and friends, duck hunting, and fishing at Holly Mound. He was a member of Holly Mound Land Company and took great pride in the club his father founded.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Moore III; special aunt and uncle, Janet and Basil Hoag, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of almost 30 years, Amy Moore, who devotedly took care of him during the last several years, as his health declined. He is also survived by his mother Gayle Powell Moore of Texarkana; two children and their spouse Ally Moore Askew and husband Jacob; Robert Moore and his wife Sonya; five grandchildren Aubree, Jenson, Ramses, Jaden, and Raylan all of Springhill, Arkansas; mother-in-law Sharon Maccarone of Kennewick, WA; sister-in-law Shari Bailey and husband Todd of Richland, WA; two special cousins who were like his sister and brother Denny Hoag Goebel of Baton Rouge, LA, and Basil Hoag, III of Hot Springs, AR; A loyal Lifelong friend Loyd Peterson of Lewisville, AR; and a host of family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Diane Brown officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Texarkana Funeral Home-Texas, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.
