James Edward Moore, age 77, of Fouke, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 21, 2026, Father's Day, surrounded by his loving family.  Home was where James was happiest, and he spent his final moments in the comfort of the place he cherished most.

James was born on May 2, 1949, in Texarkana, Arkansas, to his parents, Minnie and Henry Moore. From the time he was a little boy, James was full of energy and personality. His parents often laughed about how spirited he was as a baby. He reportedly wore out and tore up three bay beds by jumping up and down while enthusiastically yelling, "Mule Train."

He served his country in the United States Army, answering the call of duty and experiencing things that many people should never have to witness.

Later in life, James met and married the love of his life and his very best friend. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and companionship. They were rarely apart and enjoyed doing everything together.

James and his wife Cathy shared a love for working cattle on the farm, spending peaceful days fishing, and loved his precious fur babies Ella Mae and Hoss- and they loved him, and riding their trike. Their greatest joy was the family they built together, and the precious time spent visiting with friends.

James spent many years working in construction, where he developed a strong work ethic and reputation for getting the job done. He eventually discovered his true calling in farming. Once he found his place on the farm, he never looked back.

James Moore was a very honest, hard-working man who would give the shirt off his back, his last dollar. He was also known for his wonderful sense of humor. He had a way of making people laugh, whether it was through one of his many jokes, a funny story, or one of the unexpected and silly things he would say.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Cathy Stone Moore of Fouke, Arkansas; one daughter, Amy Moore of Palestine, Texas; one granddaughter, Mia Moore; one brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Sherry Moore of Fouke, Arkansas; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Margaret and Melvin Cornelius and Lenona Morgason; and a great grandson, Carter Johnson;and a host of friends and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas Chapel, with Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery in Fouke, Arkansas.

The family will receive friends at Texarkana, Arkansas, Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
