Senior Master Sergeant Howard K. Waller, age 70, of Nash, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026. He was born on November 11, 1955, to Eugene M. and Delores Redden Waller.

Howard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for over 30 years, from February 11, 1976, until his retirement on November 5, 2006. His dedication to service was a source of great pride, and he carried that same strong work ethic into his later years at Red River Army Depot, where he worked as a locksmith until retirement.

Howard was a man of many passions. He found joy in gardening and had a special gift for bringing life to anything he planted. From his teenage years, he developed a love for restoring vintage cars and trucks, taking pride in making them look and run like new. Some of his most cherished moments were spent with his children and grandchildren—camping, fishing, or simply sitting on his porch, taking in the peaceful view of his land. He also treasured the simple joy of riding back roads with his late father, memories he carried close to his heart.

Known for his warm spirit, Howard never met a stranger. He loved visiting with friends and family and was often the first to greet others with a genuine smile and a heartfelt hug. His work as a locksmith was more than a profession—it was something he truly enjoyed, often treating it as both a skill and a hobby.

Above all, Howard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a steady source of strength and support to those around him, always willing to lend a helping hand. His love for his family was unwavering, and he took great pride in each of them. To many, he was a hero; to his grandchildren, he was simply the best Pawpaw in the world.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene M. Waller and Delores Redden Waller; his brothers, Mark Waller and Allen Waller; and his nephew, Allen Eugene Waller.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 39 years, Cynthia Tyl Waller of Nash, Texas; his children, Bryan and Ashley Waller of Texarkana, Texas, Stefanie and Joel Williams of Savoy, Texas, Marissa and Bradley Goodwin of Nash, Texas, and Lance Braley of Nash, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his brother, Stephen Waller and wife Ressa of Texarkana, Texas; his sister, Nadine Taylor and husband Norman of Maud, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends who loved him deeply.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
