Harvy Dean Walston, MSGT USAF (Ret.)

Harvy Dean Walston, age 89, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025. He was born on December 19, 1935, in Nashville, Arkansas. Harvy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring with 23 years of honorable service. He was a Vietnam veteran and a dedicated member of The Retired Enlisted Association.

Harvy was preceded in death by his loving wife, Emma Jo Russell Walston; his parents, James C. and Lavada Self Walston; one beloved grandson, Aaron Dean Walston; six brothers—Cotas, Homer, Doyle, Jay B., Dewelee, and Baby Walston; and three sisters Eunice Barnes, Deselee Canaday, and Pearl Walston.

He is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gary Dean and Deborah Walston of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Stevey Joe Walston of Whitesboro, Texas; one daughter, Sherry Lynn Castleberry of Sherman, Texas; one grandson and his wife, James Nathan and Damaris Walston of Nacogdoches, Texas; and one granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Walston of Nacogdoches, Texas. He also leaves behind two great-grandsons, five great-granddaughters, one great-great-grandson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Harvy will be remembered for his dedication to family, service to his country, and the legacy he leaves in the hearts of those who loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, December 13, 2025 in the chapel of Chapelwood Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service.
