Harry "Buddy" Cogell, 66, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away April 5, 2026.  Harry was born and raised in Texarkana by his parents along with his 3 siblings.

He graduated from Texas High School, where he enjoyed playing in the jazz band, and afterwards attended the University of Texas at Arlington.  Harry returned to Texarkana, where he spent most of his adult life.  He had a kind heart and never met a stranger.  Harry was active at the Bethel Seventh-day Adventist Church (Texarkana).

Harry is survived by his daughter, Kathryn Kurtz (Josh); one grandson, Murphy Kurtz; a sister, Susie Johnson; one brother, Steve Cogell; nieces, Emily Kosub and Robin Scott; nephews, Jon Johnson, Alex Cogell, and Zach Cogell.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carol and Harry G. Cogell; and a sister, Debbie Atkins.

A special thanks and appreciation to Harry's longtime childhood best friend, Mike Lowe, for all of his support and friendship throughout the years.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2026, officiated by Pastor Aaron J. Mace, at Hillcrest Memorial Park located at 5101 W. 7th, Texarkana, Texas 75503.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Bethel SDA Church (Texarkana), 489 S. Kings Hwy, Texarkana, Tx 75501.
