Gene Pierce Clements, 95, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. Born on September 9, 1931, in Queen City, Texas, Gene was the son of the late Opal Griffin Clements and Roy Clements.

Gene lived a full and meaningful life, touching the lives of many through his friendships, his stories, and his unmistakable outgoing personality. He was a natural storyteller who could make people laugh, share a memory, or simply enjoy a good conversation. To those who knew him, Gene was a treasured friend and a familiar face whose presence brought warmth and companionship.

Gene proudly served his country as a veteran of the Marines. He graduated from Texas High School with the Class of 1950 and went on to graduate from Southern Methodist University in 1958, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He later enjoyed a long and successful career as an executive with Guardian Insurance.

Outside of work, Gene found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved playing golf, traveling, and spending time visiting with friends at McDonald's. He valued friendships and fellowship and had a gift for making people feel welcome. His stories, laughter, and easygoing spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Gene was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha Clements; his parents, Opal and Roy Clements; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Gene Clements Jr. of Princeton, Texas; Elizabeth Welwood of Granbury, Texas; and Lynna Smith of Dallas, Texas; along with two dear friends, Glenda White and Lorraine Haynes. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many lifelong friends who will carry his memory in their hearts.

Gene leaves behind a legacy of friendship, laughter, stories, and memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him. His 95 years were filled with experiences, relationships, and moments that made his life uniquely his own. Though he will be greatly missed, the memories he created and the lives he touched will remain a lasting part of his legacy.
