Garland Clark Burt, age 74, of Fouke, Arkansas, died on Thursday, August 6, 2026, in Ashdown, Arkansas, hospital.

Mr. Burt was born on October 9, 1951, in Atlanta, Texas, and lived in Fouke most of his life.

Garland was a retired engineer with Union Pacific Railroad, where he dedicated many years of faithful service. He was also a proud and devoted Mason, holding membership in Prescott Lodge No. 80. He enjoyed the fellowship of his fellow lodge members and was committed to serving his community. Through the lodge, he helped raise funds to support scholarships, local organizations, and families in need. He looked forward to fish fries at deer camp, where family and friends gathered to enjoy good food, laughter, and fellowship.

Some of his favorite moments were spent around the campfire, sharing stories and making memories.

He is survived by his two sons and one daughter-in-law, Grayson and Andrea Burt of Nash, Texas; and David Burt of Texarkana, Texas; one brother, John Burt; and one step-granddaughter, Avangelyn Gretzmier, and a host of friends and other relatives.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 19th from 6:00 to 7:30 at Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas.
