Donald L. Williams, age 90, of Texarkana, passed on to his heavenly home on April 13, 2026. He was born on December 18, 1935, in Texarkana, the son of William and Juanita Williams. On August 26, 1955, he married his late wife, Cora Williams, his high school sweetheart, with whom he remained married for 64 years. He found love again, and on October 9, 2021, he married his current wife, Jo Ward Williams.

Donald was known for his dedication to his family, his community, his country, and to the Lord. He loved to spend his time fishing, gardening, playing board games, or building puzzles with his family. Donald was a U.S. Navy Veteran, stationed primarily on the U.S.S. Curtiss on Operation REDWING, which was tasked with testing atmospheric nuclear weapons. He was then stationed in Washington, DC, at the Pentagon, where he served as a clerk for an Admiral. Donald and Cora returned to Texarkana in 1975 with their three children, where Donald worked as a salesman for French's Mustard and Spice Company. Donald was a member of Beech Street First Baptist Church for 51 years and was very active in the church, serving as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and mentor to many. Donald was a man of unwavering faith who would be the first to point those around him back to God's word and the truth found within it. He firmly believed in and held true to the practice of prayer and studying the Bible. Donald was a kind-hearted, gentle man who enjoyed long talks on the back porch and writing detailed letters expressing his love to his family. He was patient, forgiving, and full of hope. He loved spending his free time listening to The Gaither Vocal Band and watching "Amazing Grace".

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Juanita Williams, his wife, Cora L. Williams, and his son, Philip D. Williams. He is survived by his current wife, Jo Ward Williams; his eldest daughter and her life-partner, Laura Williams and Laura Knight, his youngest daughter and son-in-law, Sean and Sara Mills; his daughter-in-law Wakhaunda Williams; his three sisters, Helen Borggren, Barbara Smith, and Wilma Weston; six grandchildren, Destiny Williams, Donald Wayne Williams, Danielle Williams, Haley Mills, and Ty Mills ( Caley Mills)and Jessica Jones and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Beech Street First Baptist Church in honor of his life.

A celebration of life will be held on April 17 at Texarkana Arkansas Funeral Home at 2:00 pm with Pastor Sean Mills and Pastor Ty Mills officiating. Burial will take place after the service at Memorial Gardens in Texarkana, AR.

Visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00 pm on Friday, April 17 prior to the service at Texarkana Funeral Home.

We want to express our gratitude to Heritage Hospice – Leah, Cassie, Ashley and Megan for the best care that they gave to Don.  Also, to the Oaks Memory Care nurses who cared for Dad so well in his last days.
