Don George Kyle

Don George Kyle, age 88, of Texarkana, Arkansas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.

Mr. Kyle was born on October 17, 1937, in Kilgore, Texas, and spent most of his life in Texarkana. He was a retired Counselor with the Texarkana, Arkansas, School District who, throughout his career, touched and influenced the lives of countless young men and women. His guidance, compassion, and dedication to students left a lasting impact on the community he faithfully served. Don was a graduate of Arkansas High School and remained a proud alumnus throughout his life. He cherished his connection to his alma mater and was honored to be counted among its alumni. Committed to education and lifelong learning, he furthered his studies and earned a master's degree from the University of North Texas. Don was an all-around great man whose character reflected the very best of humanity. He was truly the salt of the earth- honest, caring, dependable, and kind.

Don faithfully served as a Troop Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America for forty-seven years. Through his steadfast leadership, mentorship, and dedication to the principles of Scouting, he positively influenced a generation of young people, leaving a legacy in the lives of countless Scouts and their families.

He was a loving and devoted son, brother, husband, dad, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many.  He was also a member of First United Methodist Church, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Kyle and Dorothy Lucille McClure Kyle, one brother, John R. Kyle, and one sister, Mary Helen Chapin.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Arlene Kyle of Texarkana, Arkansas; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Megan Kyle of West Monroe, Louisiana; Jimmy and Kristen Kyle of Little Rock, Arkansas; his four grandchildren, Kathryn Kyle, Allison Kyle, Lorrin Kasch and her husband, Mike; and Madison Frankland and her husband, Kip; two great-grandchildren, Tripp Kasch and KP Frankland and a host of friends and other relatives.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 A. M. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Texarkana Funeral Home, Chapel, with Deacon Craig Lashford officiating. Burial will be in Rondo Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P. M.
