Debra Kay Thomas, age 68, of Texarkana, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 10, 2026. She was born on September 12, 1957, in Lewisville, Arkansas, to Avis Irene Ward and Jimmy Don Ward.

Debra's legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved her. She was a dedicated educator with the Genoa Central School District, where she positively impacted the lives of countless students during her more than twenty years of service. As a middle school English teacher, she encouraged each student to succeed and instilled in them the value of a good education.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, Debra was fiercely protective of her family and deeply cherished each of her grandchildren. She made it a priority to attend their school and extracurricular activities, always cheering them on with pride and love. Family was at the center of her life, and she intentionally set aside time to create lasting memories with those she loved most.

In addition to her work in education, Debra was co-owner, bookkeeper, and accountant for Thomas Cabinets and Trim in Texarkana, Arkansas.

Debra was a faithful member of Legacy Baptist Church, where she joyfully served in the nursery and as a greeter. She had a servant's heart and was always willing to help wherever she was needed.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty-three years, Billy Doyle Thomas, and one brother, Danny Ward.

Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Don and Irene Ward of Genoa, Arkansas; her two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeremy and Karla Thomas, and Josh and Maegan Thomas, both of Genoa, Arkansas; her daughter and son-in-law, Kayla and Sean Eddington of Genoa, Arkansas; her six grandchildren, Maggie Thomas, Nathaniel Thomas, Jaxon Thomas, Whit Thomas, John Thomas Eddington, and James Eddington; along with a host of extended family members and dear friends.

Debra will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her dedication to education, her love for her family, and her servant's heart. Her influence and example will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

Funeral services will be held at Legacy Baptist Church in Genoa, Arkansas, on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 2 PM with Bro. Donnie Edwards officiating. Burial will be held at Central Church of Christ Cemetery in Genoa.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 6-8 PM at Texarkana Arkansas Funeral Home.
