Conlee Bill Whitehurst III, age 55, of Texarkana, TX, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Baylor University Medical Center of Dallas, TX. He was born on December 29, 1969, to Conlee "Bill" and Ramona Whitehurst in Texarkana, Texas.

Mr. Whitehurst was a member of Christ Nations Church and spent his working days as a licensed Boiler Operator. Bill was a beloved husband, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and selflessness. Bill was the most amazing man, a devoted family man whose greatest joy was ensuring his wife and granddaughters had everything they needed—and more. Even on his toughest days, he put his family first, embodying resilience, kindness, and unwavering dedication.

Bill traveled the world with his wife, and he lived a life full of adventure and cherished memories. There wasn't anything Bill couldn't fix. Known affectionately by friends as "MacGyver," he had a rare talent for problem-solving, always finding a solution to whatever challenge came his way.

A lifetime of service defined Bill's journey. Early in his career, he served his community as a policeman and paramedic. His selfless spirit continued to shine through in his roles as a Volunteer Firefighter, First Responder, Reserve Deputy, and Rescue/Recovery Diver. Bill's commitment to helping others extended even beyond his passing; as an organ donor, he saved four lives the night he left this world.

Bill had a deep love for the outdoors. Fishing brought him immense peace, and he could often be found on a still lake, rod in hand, savoring nature's quiet beauty. Camping was another favorite pastime, and his love for animals was boundless, especially for his two beloved Australian Shepherds, Molly and Murphy.

Above all, Bill was a man of faith. He was saved and had a personal relationship with his Savior, a truth that brings comfort to those who grieve his loss. Bill's impact on this world was profound, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Conlee "Bill" Whitehurst; mother-in-law, Linda Irvin; and grandparents, Conlee and Lillian Whitehurst.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Karla Whitehurst, of Texarkana, TX; step-daughter, Amy Lawrence, of Texarkana, TX; granddaughters, Kenley Duran, Averie Duran, and Willow Duran, all of Texarkana, TX; mother, Ramona Whitehurst, of Texarkana, AR; sister, Sharon Whitehurst, of Texarkana, AR; grandmother, Willie Stroup, of Texarkana, AR; niece, Amber Rowe, of Bossier City, LA; great-niece, Leah Cutchall, of Fouke, AR; special friends, Ryan and Tina Hampton, of Texarkana, TX, Russell Edwarz, of Texarkana, AR, and James and Tressa Upchurch, of Genoa, AR; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Chapelwood Funeral Home, Nash at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Iran Pitre officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
