Bruce Allen Garner Sr., age 74, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at his residence. He was born on October 17, 1951, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to  Reverend William V. Garner and Edna.

Bruce dedicated much of his life to serving others as a Funeral Director, a profession he carried with compassion, dignity, and care. Through the years, he became a comforting presence to countless families during some of their most difficult moments. After retiring from funeral service, he continued his career with Dillard's, where he worked as Manager of the Men's Department, building many lasting friendships with both coworkers and customers.

Bruce enjoyed life's simple pleasures and treasured the time he spent with family and friends. Whether sharing stories, enjoying laughter with the breakfast club, or spending time with his children and grandchildren, he was happiest when surrounded by those he loved most. He will be remembered for his kindness, steady presence, sense of humor, and the love he had for his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend William V. Garner and Edna.

He leaves to cherish his memory is sons, Bruce Allen Garner Jr. and Jeremy Paul Garner and wife Shea; the mother of his sons, Terri Nicklas Garner; sisters, Cynthia Haydon and husband Billy, and Connie Holder and husband Dr. David Holder;  brother, Curtis William Garner; grandchildren, Ashlyn Nelson and husband Josh, Paige Garner, Madalee Garner, Fallon Garner, and Jack Garner; dear friends of the breakfast club; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him deeply.'

Funeral service will be held at Hardy Memorial Methodist Church on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Richard Heyduck. Visitation will be on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 at Texarkana Funeral Home-Texas. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens.
