George Benjamin Shaw, more commonly known as Bro. Ben or Bro. Shaw, passed from this life into his Heavenly reward on September 28, 2025, at age 92.

Bro. Ben was born August 29, 1933 in Mobile, Alabama, to his parents, Benjamin and Prinnie Shaw. At the age of 16, he gave his heart to Jesus Christ and soon after was called into the ministry. Bro. Ben evangelized for several years and during that time, met and married the love of his life, Opal Lee Rockwell Shaw. Together, they dedicated their lives to sharing the gospel and had one daughter, Sharon.

Eventually, his ministry turned to pastoral work, and he pastored several churches in different states before landing in Fouke, Arkansas, as pastor of Fairland Holiness Church. This was his last and longest pastorate.

Bro. Ben became a known and loved minister in the community and was highly respected to the end of his earthly life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Lee Shaw, and both of his parents.

Bro. Ben is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Joe Armbrister of Fouke, AR; two grandchildren, Vonda Williams and her husband, Jeff of Fouke, AR; Benjamin Armbrister and his wife, Michelle of Fayetteville, IN; six great-grandchildren, Garrett Armbrister and his wife, Hailey; Abigayle Miller and her husband, Isaac; Lindsi Dean and her husband, Landon; Joseph Williams, Jacob Williams, and Blaire Armbrister. One great-great-grandson, Jamey Armbrister; and special friends, Karen and Randy Earls, and Shirley and Freddie Lester.

Bro. Ben's life will be celebrated on Monday, Oct. 6, 2025 at 1 o'clock p.m. at the church where he last pastored and attended, Fairland Holiness Church, Fouke, AR. Rev. Lloyd Shuecraft and Rev. Joe Armbrister will be officiating the homegoing service.

The family will receive friends and visitors on the evening prior, Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Fairland Holiness Church from 5-8 o'clock p.m.

Burial will follow the service at the Fairland Cemetery, Miller County 9, Fouke AR under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home - AR.
