Arlie "Buddy" V. Kerby Jr., age 77, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away on March 16, 2026. He was born on January 6, 1949, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Frankie Fairchild and Arlie Kerby Sr.

He dedicated 49 and a half years of his career as a paralegal at Miller James Miller Law Office, where he was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.

In his free time, Buddy enjoyed boating, traveling, football, and, after retirement, going on lunch dates with his wife. He especially appreciated the simple things in life and the time he spent with those he loved.

His family describes him as compassionate, hard-working, and always willing to help others. He was very sociable and cherished time with friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Frankie Fairchild; his father, Arlie Kerby Sr.; his sister, Carolyn Spriggs; and his brother, Danny Kerby.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joni Post Kerby; his children, Melissa Kerby Knowles and husband Chris; Jennifer Kerby Baczek and husband Brian; and Mark Kerby; his grandchildren, Connor Baczek, Carson Baczek, Avery Knowles, and Hannah Knowles; his sister Lois Durrer; and many extended family members and friends. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all those who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Chapelwood Funeral Home in Nash, Texas with the visitation being one hour prior.
