Allie Ruth Arterbury Bentley, age 96, of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, April 26, 2026 in a local hospice facility.

Mrs. Bentley was born April 5, 1930 in DeKalb, Texas. She was formerly employed at Texarkana National Bank, past Vice President at the Oaklawn Bank and a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Bentley and by one son, John Warren Bentley.

She is survived by one daughter, Janet Bentley of Magnolia, Texas; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Taylor, Erin Bentley and husband Frank Esser, Lori Wright and husband Douglas, Sarah Kurten and husband Eric and Travis Buchanan; eight great grandchildren, Cheryl Murray, Emmie Taylor, Ashley Wright, Taylor Wright, Alexis Wright, Christian Buchanan, Easton Murphy and Granger Duke; numerous great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Myers officiating. Burial is under direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6-8 P.M.
