Life Legacy


Phillip Wakefield Hagan, 56, of Texarkana, TX, died Wednesday, December 10, 2008, in Guston, KY. He was born August 13, 1952, in Louisville, KY. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was retired from Red River Army Depot and Dwight?s Biker?s Dream in New Boston, TX, where he was finance manager. He was instrumental in starting the Toys for Tots in Texarkana in 1982, and was involved with many other charitable organizations, including the Boo Run Benefit in Jefferson, TX, the ALS Foundation, and the Domestic Violence Prevention. Phillip loved restoring antique motorcycles, and won second place in Easy Rider Show in Dallas with a 1952 Harley Davidson Panhead. He is survived by his wife, Yolanda Barfield-Hagan; three sons, William Anthony Hagan, Christopher Sean Hagan, and Brian Phillip Gissy; three brothers, Buddy Benham, Steve Benham, and Wesley Benham; three sisters, Sheila Kendall, Monica Wardrip, and Theresa Hubbard; three grandchildren, Kaylin Nicole Hagan, Austin Lee Hagan, and Bailey Grace Hagan; and a number of other relatives. Memorial services will be held 3 pm Sunday, December 28, 2008, at First Bikers Church with Rev. Gary Don Sandlin officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Phillip?s name may be made to the ALS Association, 27001 Agoura Rd., Suite 150, Calabasas Hills, CA 91301-5104.
