Life Legacy
Mary Frances Rowe Upchurch, 79, died March 31 in a Texarkana hospital after a brief illness. Born December 19, 1929, in Texarkana, TX, she attended Texas High and Texarkana Jr. College and worked at Red River Army Depot until she left there to raise a family. Later she worked at the accounting firm of Wilf and Henderson until she retired in 1992. A long time member of the First United Methodist Church of Texarkana, TX, she served in the choir and Memorial Committe and participated in the Bible Study Class and Pierce Fellowship Class. She was a member of the Diamond K Kiwanis Club. Mary is survived by her husband James Homer Upchurch of Texarkana, TX, daughter and son-in-law Carol and Michael Holland of Plano, TX, grandchildren Shero Holland and Tyna Chu of Tempe, AZ and Melissa and Sean Roach of Savannah, TX, great grandchildren, Ethan Michael and Brenna Caitlin Roach of Savannah, TX, nieces Sheri Lalumondier of Ashville, NC and Linda Stevens of West Palm Beach, FL, nephew Paul Russell Rowe of Kannapolis, NC, brother-in-law, Harry D. Upchurch of Wake Village and many friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer Francis Rowe and Eunice Nell Beck, brother Joe Russell Rowe and daughter Pamela Jane Upchurch. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, April 4, at 2:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church, Texarkana, TX with Rev. Forrest Garrett officiating.
